2. Structural Insulated Panels (SIPS)

The panels are made up of 2 layers of Oriented Strand Board (OSB) and 1 sheet of Expanded Polystyrene (EPS) or Polyurethane (PUR) which are fixed together. This is a great construction method that has been used for many years in colder regions of USA, Canada and Northern Europe. There is growing appetite for these “sandwich” panels in the UK too. SIPS are an advanced method of construction offering excellent thermal performance, light-weight structural strength, time and cost saving benefits over traditional construction methods or systems.
